‘Longmire’ season 4: Could its premiere date be early fall?

Longmire -We are getting near an exciting time right now for “Longmire” fans. Production is getting set to start very soon in New Mexico, and the next few months will be busy. We know that many cast members are already either in the area or in transit, with one of the real mysteries at the moment being Bailey Chase (Branch). Given the cliffhanger ending to season 3, we imagine most being invested in keeping his future a secret for the time being.

So what we are here to report on today is following up on something we’ve speculated for a while: When the former A&E show could be launching with all-new episodes on Netflix. We already dismissed the notion that it would be ready in June, which is when the show previously premiere. The problem here is that, at least for the most part, the service likes to give you everything at once. The entire season was never ready at the time it premiered on A&E in the past; even when filming eventually does wrap up, you still have to go through the rigorous editing and post-production process to make sure that all is good to go.

A new report from Uproxx (one of our favorite places for think-pieces) suggests that the return date for the show will be in “early fall,” and that does seem about right. While it may be longer than fans are used to, we feel like early-to-mid-October would be a good sweet spot. You don’t want to launch it during broadcast premiere season (which is typically the second half of September), and we’re not sure it will be ready before then. This gives it at least a chance to get some promotion of its own.

As you hopefully know by now, we’re going to be here with further news every step of the way. Head over here to get some more of the latest scoop!
