ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: First photo of Seamus Dever’s Ryan in ‘At Close Range’
It’s been a reasonably long wait (at least in-season) for the next new “Castle” episode, but you’re going to have the show back on the air with “Hong Kong Hustle” Monday night. If you’ve been wanting to see Beckett (Stana Katic) work with a very different sort of partner, that will be your opportunity to do so.
What we’re going to discuss a little more today is “At Close Range,” the episode revolving around Ryan (Seamus Dever) airing on March 23. We’ve always been a fan of these episodes; “Under Fire” was a personal favorite from last season, and we imagine that it also had to be a very grueling one to film. This story is going to be a little bit different, given that we’re seemingly not going to see him and Esposito trapped anywhere, and instead, the story revolves more around him retracing some of his steps in order to serve justice. We’ve got a first-look image for the episode below, and let’s just say that this is certainly not a position that Ryan is used to being in after some time on the job.
Want a little more insight into why he’s got so many guns pointing at him? The synopsis below offers some insight:
“Detective Kevin Ryan is on the security detail of a charismatic congressman attending a charity event when shots suddenly ring out. Driven to apprehend the killer, Ryan must revisit the events that led up to the shooting, with the help of Castle and Beckett.”
It’s possible that Ryan is going to need to clear his own name (we’ve seen those sort of episodes before) with the investigation, just as it’s also possible that he is not suspected at all, and this is just a fun opportunity to see him take the lead on a case. Some things are hard to figure out until the episode (or at least a promo) airs.
For now, let’s just say we’re excited! You can receive some further “Castle” news at this link; also, sign up now to score some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
