‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 16 review: Is ripper Stefan back?
Tonight, “The Vampire Diaries” returned to TV with an episode that was almost all about Caroline. She had flipped off the humanity switch, and she showed time and time again during this episode that she now has a propensity for doing some pretty terrible things.
Her main event tonight? Compelling Liam, and then having him try to give impromptu surgery to Sarah Salvatore. Pretty horrifying stuff, really, and it showed just how terrible she really is without that pesky humanity slowing her down a little bit. The mission here was to try and stop her, and this was not exactly easy.
Just to make matters worse for everyone now, it seems like Ripper Stefan may be back! Seemingly, he has adopted a “if you can’t beat them, join them” mentality. This is not good news for really anyone else … though Sarah seems to be salvageable, so there’s that.
As for the rest of the episode, we had a chance in here to learn a thing or two more about Damon’s mother, and it is not good. Seemingly, she was a ripper, and there is a reason why she has been locked away in this particular period of time. She and Kai have something in common! Speaking of Kai, Bonnie is pretty much livid about the fact that Damon brought her around him, given what Kai did to her during that time they were trapped together.
All in all, bravo to this show for an eventful episode! Grade: B+.
