‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 15 preview: Does Meredith make key revelation about Derek?

We’re not in the field of medicine, so we really cannot sit here and accurately say whether or not being on a “streak” is a big deal or now in the world of medicine. All we know with some certainty is that it is going to be a key point of story in Thursday night’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

As the sneak peek below (first posted by TVLine) shows off, Ellen Pompeo’s character is not actually aware so much of the extent of her streak until Jo brings it up in the operating room. However, what is interesting here is that she’s not actually so much concerned about the number of the streak as she is the day that she started: November 14. This also just so happens to be the same day that Derek ended up leaving for Washington DC, which leads her to wonder a very complicated question: Is she really a better surgeon without her husband around?

We don’t think that the question is necessarily that cut-and-dry, mostly because there are some patients who you are not going to be able to save. That complicates any data. She’s had a little bit of luck, and if anything, maybe she is just able to focus a little bit better in the operating room for now.

Ultimately, this streak will end one way or another at some point. It is inevitable. Whether or not Derek is present will probably not have anything to do with it in the end.
