‘Glee’ season 6, episode 11 spoilers: Jane Lynch takes you inside Sectionals

The wait begins -Given that there are only three hours left on “Glee” this season, it only makes sense that one of them would be a show-choir competition. That is what we’re going to see in Friday night’s “We Build This Glee Club,” as Sectionals are finally upon us!

In the video below (via “Entertainment Tonight“), Jane Lynch takes you behind the scenes somewhat of what will be yet another rousing competition. There are a few twists this time around. After Dalton Academy burned to the ground, they have merged with McKinley High to form their own glee club. They’re honoring Dalton by coming up with their own blazers, and performing something that will be reminiscent of the Warblers in many ways. It’s a good set list, and it includes “Take Me to Church” by Hozier.

Lynch also reminds you of the absurdity that is Sue Sylvester coaching Vocal Adrenaline now. In a way, there is a similarity between this and cheerleading in that both involve choreography. This strategy here seems to be that the group already knows how to sing well, and she just whips them all continuously into shape so that they have the strongest showcase of their talent.

Really, though, what most of this happens to be is satire. Whether you are talking about a school hiring Sue despite her discredits, or a dog apparently being one of the judges this year, it all speaks in a way to the broken system of arts education in this country, and how little certain people seem to care about it. That is something that is very sad, and hopefully will change.
