‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 18 preview: Taylor Kinney’s Severide plays catch-up

Severide -Tonight, “Chicago Fire” not only introduced us to some new faces, but it also established a new mission for Kelly Severide to get more in tough with his past. Is this something that he is really going to be able to do? That is one of the major themes for next week’s new episode entitled “Forgiving, Relentless, Unconditional” … but it will be far from the only thing. Ultimately, we anticipate that there is going to be a whole lot of drama surrounding him. After all, you’ve got a huge story for Herrmann coming up as he does whatever he can to help a young child. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the synopsis below:

“During a harrowing call to a structure fire, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) rescues a trapped toddler, but the questionable circumstances surrounding the event sends him on a personal mission to locate the father and get to the bottom of the situation. Severide (Taylor Kinney) makes up for lost time by retracing key friendships from his adolescence, while Mills (Charlie Barnett) discovers some surprising news. Elsewhere, Cruz (Joe Minoso) and Brett’s (Kara Killmer) relationship comes to a crucial juncture, while Otis (Yuri Sardarov) develops some unexpected feelings.”

Hopefully, this is an episode that really establishes some solid emotional notes. After all, our current projection is that you are not going to be seeing a whole lot more of “Chicago Fire” once we get through this one. The next episode for the show beyond next week is the “Chicago Med” backdoor pilot, and we imagine that it may be April before we get to see that.

We’re going to have more on this episode before it airs, so stay tuned!
