It feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve had much news when it comes to “Longmire,” but the reality here is that this happens when you’re waiting for production to start. Obviously, things were much more insane during the whole waiting game for a season 4 renewal. That’s in the rear-view mirror now, and hopefully the show is set up now for a nice run on Netflix moving forward.
What we are here to tell you today is that filming is a matter of weeks away! Lou Diamond Phillips confirms on Twitter that we are about two weeks out. We’ve known for some time that production was starting up in March, but we never had many other specifics. New Mexico’s becoming quite a hub for filming, in between this show, “Better Call Saul,” and of course “Breaking Bad” before that.
Phillips promises to have some behind-the-scenes goodies throughout production, so he is a good person to follow if you’re not already.
How we are going to cover production is simple: We’ll discuss castings, possible plot teasers, and share photos provided that they are released from someone affiliated from the show. We don’t do unauthorized set photos or major spoilers that will ruin the show.
What we want to do at the end of this article is take a little of a public poll when it comes to how we cover the show this coming season. How do you want your episode reviews published for the coming season: Daily following the premiere, or weekly? We want to provide the best coverage of the show possible, and we’re still experimenting somewhat since Netflix is such a different model than we are used to.
