‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 13 review: Belle and Will Scarlet, Maleficent’s … baby?
Going into Sunday night’s “Once Upon a Time,” secrets were definitely a subject of conversation. Specifically, we are talking about the ones that Snow and Charming keep.
So what was the big “reveal” that the show gave us near the end of the episode? First, it was that Snow and Charming knew that Emma had the capacity for great evil within her, but they chose to never reveal it to her. We cannot say that we were altogether blown away by this, given that we already knew from last week that Emma had a little bit of darkness within her.
Still, it appears that the two are very much invested in keeping this secret, mostly because they don’t want to destroy the high level of belief that Emma has in them. They are almost so interested in putting on the airs of being heroes that it is basically a facade. That is also what we saw in the past, when Maleficent revealed she was pregnant (!) and Snow still refused to work with them.
Ultimately, the biggest secret of all was revealed near the end of the episode, and it was one we did not see coming: Maleficent was also with child at the same time Snow was! Something she did caused the villain to lose her child, and if this gets out, it could make Snow suddenly a villain in the eyes of many. Who would’ve thought that Maleficent would ever been seen as sympathetic?
Also tonight, it was nice to get a few minutes of Pinocchio again, given just how long it has been since this character was last around on the show. While he was useless in helping Regina uncover the Author, Geppetto did hand over some of August’s old stuff, which may be useful in revealing the Author’s location.
The only real eyeroll here for now is Will Scarlet and Belle. Did this escalate just a little too quickly? Episode Grade: B+.

My thought is that Rumple may be seeing things when he sees Belle with Scarlett because of what Ursella and Cruella have told him about his wife moving on but that just my opinion after seeing the way she reacted to sending him away

It did cross my mind that Belle and Will were actually Cruella and Ursula in disguise, using magic to enrage The Dark one to remain dark, but I don’t know…..

I think I just might be done with this show. I was being very forgiving, but they messed with BOTH of my main ships: Will/Anna & Rumbelle, and they didn’t seem to give a CRAP about it. NO hint of ANY kind of process, just BOOP! We’ll have Belle and Will kissing now. Also missing a PERFECT opportunity to make Chernobog the Big Bad for the show. Seems like they’re just going to stick Rumple with ALL the blame while every other character, both “hero” and “villain” gets to go frolicking into the guiltless sunset. *Eye Roll*

Not going to lie, I felt horrible for Rumple when he saw Belle and Will kissing. Heart break for sure! He screwed up hard core, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love her. Technically they aren’t divorced either. Rumple better redeem himself but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen. Belle moved on pretty fast too for being in love with Rumple for many many years. Yeah Rumple lied to her but I feel like she’s plain cheating on him.n

I agree, Rumple is my favorite character, but his love life always seems destined to crash and burn.

I agree. It was way too fast. I thought if there would be any surprise regarding Belle that maybe she had gotten pregnant on the honeymoon. Falling for another man that quickly seemed unrealistic to me.

No! Rumbelle! I didn’t expect Belle to move on that fast. She seemed concerned about Rumple’s well-being when Ursula and Cruella came to steal that purple ring from Gold’s shop. I didn’t expect her to go kissing Will that fast. I’m sure it’s not true love between them, I feel like it’s a heartbreak rebound. When people are heartbroken by their true loves (who are both villains in Will and Belle’s case) they’re more likely to bond with each other.

Rumbelle fans all over died A LOT inside when will Scarlett and Belle KISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I personally like scarlet from wonderland and it is sad to say one thing: he is DEAD!!!!!!! Rumple will not put up with rhis. Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
