‘Better Call Saul’ episode 6 preview: The mind of Mike Ehrmantraut

Better Call Saul season 1Mike Ehrmantraut is a heck of a wonderful TV character. He is also one of the reasons why so many people first were so excited about “Better Call Saul” to premiere. He’s dry, commanding, and somewhat mysterious.

During Monday night’s new episode of the AMC drama, it is looking more and more like at least one of these character traits could be expounded upon greatly. Finally, we are getting a window into the man’s past! The sneak peek HERE seems to have taken place in the past, before we saw Jonathan Banks’ character watching over a mystery woman. It looks more and more like the theories surrounding this woman being his daughter-in-law are correct. He had a son who was apparently killed in police work, and there is still a desperate search for information and answers that comes along with that. Unfortunately for this poor woman, Mike does not offer up much solace.

We know from “Breaking Bad” that Mike has a granddaughter, and much of what he does is tied to that. Therefore, we would not be too surprised to hear more about this character, as well, over the course of this episode. You will see plenty of Jimmy McGill in here, mostly in the form of him and Mike teaming up in conjunction with whatever the police in Philadelphia are there to do. This is their first real collaboration, save for the small heart-to-heart they had over the Kettlemans earlier in the season.

If Jimmy helps Mike out, maybe he can be a little more lenient on the stickers? Just a thought.
