ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 15 video: Will Olivia return to help Cyrus, Fitz?

There’s no doubting that Olivia Pope has gone through her fair share of trauma on “Scandal” as of late. First, she was kidnapped and held for ransom; ultimately, she was sold off to the highest bidder, and were it not for Henry Ian Cusick, she would probably still be suffering somewhere. If that was not terrible enough, she was then forced to handle the entire situation of “The Lawn Chair,” which was incredibly painful and pulled her in a variety of different but all uncomfortable directions.

Moving into Thursday night’s new episode, the question is simple: Is she “back”? Is she ready to really contribute once again to the White House? Cyrus asks her this question in the sneak peek below, and her response is simple: She’s not. She has her wine and she is still trying to cope with everything that happened in the past. That is the only way for her to ever prepare for the future.

Do we envision Kerry Washington’s character working in tandem with Fitz again? Of course, since this is the central premise of the show in many ways. It’d be insane to ever move away from this to a huge degree. With that being said, it may take a little bit of time for her to recover, and start to get back in the groove of doing what she does best.

In the interim, let’s just hope for some interesting layers and dimensions to who this woman really is. That should serve as a nice appetizer to the meal coming later this season.
