‘Call the Midwife’ season 4 finale spoilers: Why is Helen George’s Trixie upset? (video)

For all fans of “Call the Midwife,” we would consider Sunday’s season 4 finale on BBC must-watch TV. How could you not? This is a chance to see what the future holds for the men and women at Nonnatus House, and to see how all of them are handling the news of now at the same time.

In looking at Trixie (Helen George), it appears clear that she is still having a relatively hard time dealing with her broken engagement, one in which she felt that she was simply not able to live up to his high standards. She is one of the attendees at an engagement party for Fred and Violet in the sneak peek below, and becomes upset when she realizes that some of the same trays are being used for it that were used for hers. This is a case in which both parties have a reasonably good argument. There is zero reason for Nonnatus to throw out expensive dishware simply because Trixie’s party is over, though we understand how awkward this could make her feel. Maybe there is a part of her who simply wants Violet and Fred to not receive the same bad luck she did; however, at the same time it may serve as a not-so-nice reminder of a time gone by.

As for the second part of this sneak peek, that is a different sort of farewell scene between Chummy (Miranda Hart) and Peter. In watching this, we reminder ourselves yet again of how we wish we had more of the very busy Hart throughout this season.
