‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Emilia Clarke and a threat in premiere
The premiere of “Game of Thrones” is less than forty days away! For those of you who have been incessantly counting down the days, we are getting closer and closer with every passing day. Blame HBO Go’s new a la carte service for the extra week or so of waiting this spring; then again, can you really blame the network for trying to prepare a version of their streaming app to cut down on piracy? There is so much pilfering of this show that Captain Jack Sparrow would quiver at the thought.
Yesterday, we brought some solace in the form of episode title teasers. Today, we have something a tad more in-depth: A short synopsis for the premiere entitled “The Wars to Come.” This comes to us courtesy of SpoilerTV:
“Cersei and Jaime adjust to a world without Tywin. Varys reveals a conspiracy to Tyrion. Dany faces a new threat to her rule. Jon is caught between two kings.”
What is Dany’s new threat: Heat exhaustion, or the arrival of someone new in Meereen? Posters for the season show Tyrion on the way to this particular side of the world, unless of course Drogon somehow has the airspeed of a fighter jet. We feel like if we were Emilia Clarke’s characters, we’re not entirely sure whether or not he would be a great ally. Sure, his information is nice, and he also is motivated by revenge. However, telling Tyrion to stay in line would be like telling the late Oberyn Martell that him sleeping with every human being with a set of legs is a bad move. You just do not do it.
