‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Is the season 4 Big Bad coming early?

It is not often that we get a glimpse of the next season on “Arrow” during the current season finale. Most of the season 2 story was not explicitly spelled out at the end of season 1, and we had no clue either Ra’s al Ghul or Ray Palmer were coming when season 2 concluded.

With this in mind, the following story intrigues us greatly. According to a new report coming in right now from TVLine, the show is currently casting a character known as “Damian Dark” for the end of this season, and they will remain a formidable opponent for Oliver Queen during at least the early portion of season 4. The site’s readers eventually sussed out that this character could be Damien Darhk, a dangerous man who has some times to the organization HIVE. We would be pleased if this was the case, mostly because that could lead the way for Queen Bee and some other characters to appear on the show.

This would not be the first time that the group was mentioned on the series. HIVE was mentioned in connection with Deadshot being hired previously to kill John Diggle’s brother, so like Ra’s al Ghul, it has already been planted into the show’s universe. We’d be thrilled if this is the direction the show is going; it is something that has not been addressed much in live-action television, and it would continue to differentiate the show from what many of the upcoming DC movies are likely doing.

It’s far too early to tell who will be the Big Bad of season 4; it could still be someone like Malcolm Merlyn, and these other characters could be smaller players by comparison.
