There are a variety of things to look forward to on the upcoming fifth season of “Game of Thrones,” and one of them is getting the opportunity to see what lies within the world of Dorne for the first time on the show. You have seen it through Prince Oberyn Martell, but never through the rest of the region … at least until now.
Luckily, a new video released by HBO changes that. In this clip, Weapons Master Tommy Dunne takes you through what is effectively quite tutorial into how some of the weapons were crafted this year for some of the Sand Snakes in particular, who are all coming aboard the series. You also get a glimpse of some of the armor, which is very true to the fashion of the series. (It is so true that non-book readers will probably be completely clueless about what the world the showrunners are doing.)
Spain served as a substitute for Dorne through filming this past year, and we are going to have an opportunity to see a whole new sense of architecture and style like we have never seen before. In case you’re wondering how we have the time to ensure that Dorne appears on the show, we contribute it mostly to a pair of things.
1. There will be no Bran Stark storyline this season.
2. With Tyrion presumably (if we can believe a recent poster) on his way to Danaerys, then those two stories can be in many ways combined as we get deeper into the season.
