‘Real Housewives of New York City’ season 7: First look at Bethenny Frankel, cast

On April 7, Bravo will be bringing back a show that was at one point one of their most popular versions of their biggest franchise: “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Unfortunately, it has fallen on hard times as of late. The ratings are down, and so is the buzz. Maybe a little touch of Bethenny can change that.

Since leaving the show years ago, Bethenny Frankel has seen her fair share of highs and lows. She made millions upon millions off of her Skinnygirl brand, which she marketed rather brilliantly as a result of being on the show at first. She eventually turned this into a media empire, which included books, a daytime talk show, and a spin-off on Bravo. However, her talk show was canceled, her spin-off ended, and she has now also gone through a divorce. Life has changed for her quite a bit, and she may be in a much more vulnerable state than she has been in quite a long time.

Bethenny will be joining a crew of women this season that includes Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and also Dorinda Medley, who is new as a full-time cast member but has appeared before. This cast is way too large for one of these shows. We feel like one of the reasons why this show has struggled as of late is that there are far too many women to keep track of, and of these women, we’d say that only half of them are particularly memorable.
