‘Under the Dome’ season 3 spoilers: ‘CSI’ alum Marg Helgenberger signs on

You learned earlier in the week that “Under the Dome” season 3 is going to be premiering come Thursday, June 25. Today, what we can add to that discussion is that we at least know a thing or two more in regards to who will be stopping by.

Sources confirm that Marg Helgenberger is going to recur heavily throughout the upcoming season, though details about the part are still unclear. Given the nature of the show, it’s always interesting anytime that we meet someone new. Granted, the end of the second season made it a little more possible that we would get a chance to start to see a little more of the world.

Helgenberger’s appearance here is a reunion of sorts between her and CBS. She was a longtime cast member on “CSI,” and then after that, she was also a series regular on the short-lived series “Intelligence” alongside “Lost” alum Josh Holloway and Meghan Ory of “Once Upon a Time” fame. This is not a regular role, but it still could be an important role.

The only thing that we really hope for when it comes to the third season of “Under the Dome” as a whole is that the show really makes an effort to refocus itself a little bit, and eliminates some of the melodrama and the other awkward distractions that were present during season 2. The show was ultimately all over the place, and we know from season 1 that there is potential here for it to be one of the better genre shows out there.
