Chris Harrison still not following Chris Soules as ‘The Bachelor’

The Bachelor LogoFor those who are wondering, it doesn’t appear as though Chris Harrison is going to be “The Bachelor” anytime soon. This is an opportunity he has refused in the past, and he seems to still have the same stance he had at this point last year.

In speaking to People Magazine, the show’s host confirmed that he has no interest in being the leading man himself. Why? It has nothing to do with not believing in the process or being worried that his reputation would take a hit. Instead, his reason for having no interest is mostly due to him feeling as though he would spend too much time thinking about production that he would not be able to give many of the contestants a proper chance:

“In producing this and being behind the curtain for so long, you really do have a certain sense of naïveté and innocence to go into this and really let yourself go.”

We don’t think that Harrison will ever be the leading man again, just as we also think that the show is probably going to continue to cast people from past seasons in the role rather than outside contenders or people with oodles of money as they did in past seasons. Bringing in people who understand the show is almost production’s way of guaranteeing a good season. There are some duds here and there (Juan Pablo Galavis and his utter defiance for production takes the cake), but the majority of people that have been cast as leads since this tradition began have been pretty solid for them.
