‘Glee’ series finale spoilers: Flashforwards and a Chord Overstreet quote

The wait begins -Is the upcoming “Glee” series finale taking a page from “Parks and Recreation”? Given the timing of the two shows writing and filming, we would not say that much. However, it is pretty clear that they are both going to employ a pretty similar strategy in their finales: Utilizing flash-forwards.

However, it appears that with the Fox musical comedy, we’re not going to be jumping so much between a variety of different times as we are jumping to one specific one in the future. According to a report from E! News, the show will spend a little bit of time in its series finale all the way in the year 2020. Quite a leap forward, no? Hopefully, this will give you a chance to see where everyone who was a part of the New Directions glee club ended up, and whether or not they are happy. Just a theory: Most of them probably will be. We cannot imagine in a million years the show wanting to set some people up for sadness and failure.

In case you were wondering what filming this final episode was like, Chord Overstreet (Sam) told the website that it was bizarre, emotional, and so much more:

“Everybody was balling and all of a sudden I couldn’t stop laughing … And then everybody started laughing and we couldn’t stop laughing. It was so infectious and it was so amazing. It was one of the best experiences in my life.”

The “Glee” series finale is going to air closer to the end of March, and you can expect to see the vast majority of notable people in it who have appeared on the show over the years. It is meant to be a big reunion celebration, and hopefully it won’t disappoint.
