Fans of “Outlander,” be prepared: There are some major events happening when the show returns to Starz in early April. One of them is something that will feel almost like a broken record: An extensive love scene involving Jamie and Claire.
While we’re sure that there are plenty out there who will appreciate this sort of content, it’s going to come in the same episode as seeing the first extensive fight between Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan’s characters. Why the difference of opinion? Some of this is going to come as a result of all of the fact that maybe they’ve spent so much time given into the romance and the passion, they have not fully gotten to know each other just yet. Also, Jamie is of the past, and has a far different sensibility than many men in Claire’s present.
According to E! News, there is a silver lining. While Jamie may come across as slightly unlikable at points during this episode, he will find a way to redeem himself at the end of this. Specifically here, we are talking in terms of how Jamie shows that he is willing to change his ways, and not just be the same guy that he’s been since the very beginning of his life. These two will bring something more out of each other, and this will be interesting to see.
Ultimately, you should take everything that happens between these two as fluid, at least for the time being. Maybe by the time we get to the end of season 1, we’ll find out more about how they function with one another then.
