‘Glee’ season 6: Naya Rivera, Ryan Dorsey expecting first child

The funny thing today is that you would have said this about the actress regardless of the news today, courtesy of the fact that “Glee” just wrapped filming after six-plus years of hard work and dedication. This was at its peak one of the most popular shows on all TV, and it will be remembered by many for years to come. The cast now has that partially in the rear view mirror, and now they look at the next chapters of their lives. For the woman behind Santana Lopez, this includes motherhood. Naya confirmed that she and husband Ryan Dorsey are expecting their first child today in a post on her official website, where she passed along a simple message that summed up her feelings perfectly:

“We’re having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can’t wait to welcome the newest member of our family.”

We have to give Naya some pretty massive props here for the way that she handled the reveal, as well. For one, she waited until after “Glee” finished filming so that this could have all of the public attention. In addition, she also chose to make the announcement herself rather than selling the story to a magazine or someone else.

We would imagine that the child will most likely arrive in the late summer. Naya has already lined up one post-“Glee” role, as she reportedly will recur on the upcoming season of “Devious Maids.” She has also made many guest appearances on “The View.”
