‘Arrow’ season 3: Stephen Amell talks ‘Saturday Night Live’ dream, more on ‘Late Night’

See Oliver -Stephen Amell’s appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” this week was different than most. First and foremost, it was almost entirely set up due to the fans! He posted earlier this year that being on the late-night show was one of his goals for the year, and his fans basically tweeted to Seth with such regularity that they helped to make it happen!

On Monday night’s edition of Seth’s show, the “Arrow” star told this story, and also what was a pretty awkward conversation that he and Meyers first had years ago at the Golden Globes that Seth didn’t even remember. Basically, Amell had told him at the time that his dream was to someday host “Saturday Night Live.” (Another fun part of this? Hearing that he was for some reason sat with the entire cast of “The Big Bang Theory,” and he did not really know any of them.)

Now, we have to ask this: Would it really be possible for him to ever get to “SNL”? We’re not ruling it out. Granted, it is hard for stars of shows airing on rival networks to get a hosting gig, but Kerry Washington did it! Stephen has shown that he is funny, has a devoted following, and above all else he loves the show, and will want to do a great job with it. Who knows? Maybe if there is a good enough campaign, Lorne Michaels will take notice. This is what happened to get Betty White on the show.
