‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 15 video: Is Ra’s al Ghul in a Lazarus Pit?

The question regarding Lazarus Pits has loomed large on “Arrow” ever since it was first confirmed that Ra’s al Ghul was going to be a part of the show. Would they exist? How would they exist? Obviously, something was keeping the man alive for so many years.

While it is hardly confirmed that the sneak peek below (which starts around 1:26 in the latest DC All Access video) features Ra’s bathing within a Lazarus Pit, it certainly looks like one! Why else would he be bathing like that, surrounded by other people in Nanda Parbat? We really hope that if this is a Pit, maybe it will give more information on that infamous Oliver Queen cliffhanger from “The Climb” that has haunted the show ever since.

Aside from the Pit, the substance of the scene is simple: Ra’s clearly knows that Oliver is still alive, and has known for at least a little while. With that in mind, why in the world has he kept this a secret from his daughter Nyssa? As it turns out, a major reason may be that he did not want her to become distracted, or he has some specific plans he does not want interrupted. Ra’s knows that Oliver did not kill Sara, though there are plenty of other problems in here. After all, how could there not be when you remember that Oliver previously challenged him to a duel?

For those who enjoyed the Nyssa / Sara relationship, there is also some good stuff in here about how Nyssa feels as though her father never approved of the two of them together. As he points out, it was only because he always assumed that she would leave and break her heart.
