‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 14 CarterMatt Podcast: On ‘The Return,’ Slade Wilson, big flashbacks with Jessa
Last night, “Arrow” aired an episode that was, at least by our own estimation, pretty fun. However, it was also at the same time an episode that really did not accomplish a whole lot. We cannot really sit here and say with any certainty that there was any real reason we needed Slade Wilson in this episode, or needed the trip to Lian Yu other than to show that there were still some major fractures in the Thea Queen – Malcolm Merlyn relationship that were destined to come out at some point.
These are all things discussed in the latest edition of the “Arrow” CarterMatt Podcast, where we sit down and discuss at length “The Return.” There are moments to praise, moments to criticize, but above all, time to speculate as to where this is going. This was not the most eventful episode of the series’ run, which probably helps to explain why this is not even close to the longest podcast that we’ve done. It does at least allow us the chance to briefly discuss the current progress of “The Flash” at the very end of this episode.
We have one more podcast still to go over the next few weeks, and that is for the “Nanba Parbat” episode airing in just under seven days. After that, “Arrow” goes on hiatus until March 18, and we will be back with the next podcast in our series not long after that.

Love the podcast , but man, it’s getting negative. I have some big issues with S3 too (mostly how they’re just glossing over Oliver’s “death”), but there’s still lots to love with this show. The only other aftershow/recap I listen to is StreamTV’s, and John Campea decided to step down as host after he lost faith in this season. I feel like Jessa might be next.

Hi Suzyque,
Thanks for listening! I know I’ve been losing faith in the show a bit, but I honestly do still love this show. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I am crazy about Felicity and Diggle, they make my week brighter. I know this podcast was negative on my part, it’s been a rough go of things for the second half of the season for me, but I think it’s going to get better. Arrow won’t let me down and I’ll try not to let you down either.
