ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: See Fitz, Mellie in first photo from ‘The Lawn Chair’

While you can argue that just about every single episode of “Scandal” is a big one, we’d say that the upcoming installment “The Lawn Chair,” which is airing two weeks from Thursday night, is going to be a particularly big one. While we don’t have any particular scoop on this story right now, let’s just say that it could be a defining one for both Fitz, Mellie, and Olivia.

If we are going to give just one little note about the attached photo here for the episode, it is that Fitz actually appears to be a little more relaxed than he typically has over the past several weeks. Does this mean that Olivia Pope is back? That’s at least a question that you have to wonder, since you have to feel like there is going to be a moment where she does appear back in the world of these characters again. It’s not so interesting without her around.

One other story to watch here is just what Mellie’s own desires for power end up being. She’s made it clear that she fancies herself as far more than a First Lady, so what does that entail the rest of the season? Is she going to become a Hillary Clinton-like figure? Given what happened to her son, she is going to have that sort of public sympathy that is attention-grabbing.
