‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ castaway spotlight: Will Carolyn Rivera take home the victory?

Survivor -We are just seven days away now from the premiere of “Survivor: Worlds Apart.” As a matter of fact, a week from now exactly you may be currently watching the premiere! We have four more spotlight articles to do beyond this one, and that will lead us ultimately into making our prediction for the season. We picked Josh Canfield last season, and at least he made the merge … right? That’s at least the positive that we are going to take away from it.

Anyhow, let’s dive today into talking about Carolyn Rivera, who is the oldest contestant this season and a member of the White Collar tribe. Will she follow a recent tradition of mothers making it pretty far in the game? She at least has some of the tools.

Name – Carolyn Rivera

Age – 52

Location – Tampa, Florida (originally from Queens)

Occupation – Corporate executive

Tribe – Masaya a.k.a. White Collar

Strengths – Intelligence has to be part of it, as does experience in a variety of different ways. She apparently first started dating her now-husband when she was 16, so she knows a good bit about how to handle relationships and going through good and bad times. Also, she knows how to care for others. She’s not the most analytical person on the White Collar tribe, but that may work a little bit to her advantage. She’s probably be very loyal to an alliance.

Weaknesses – She may be weaker in challenges, and there is a combustible nature to her personality. She mentions that she may have to hold in her anger at times for confessionals, where she can then let loose with her true feelings on things. Will she really be able to hold it in that long? We’re also a little worried about her being from such a tight family, and then being apart from them for so long.

Past “Survivor” comparison – She’s from the same neck of the woods now as Monica Culpepper, and her personality reminds us a little bit of Trish coupled with Dawn. These players are all moms, but they all also seem to also have similar mindsets entering the game.

Prediction – Carolyn seems primed to do fairly well this season, provided that she makes it past the merge. We don’t feel like being the oldest contestant will hurt her on the White Collar tribe too much, and our larger fear for her is just that she will be a little too outspoken for her own good. She’ll either go home pre-merge, or around the sixth or fifth-place spot.
