‘The Bachelor’ review: Britt Nilsson’s panic, Jade Roper’s surprise in Arlington, Iowa
“The Bachelor” returned home on Sunday night … or at least home to Chris Soules. We got a chance to see the man’s hometown of Arlington, Iowa, and it was certainly interesting, to say the least.
While we know there is value in keeping true to your roots, This place is a complete ghost town. It’s not even one of those small towns you see in the sitcom. There’s no real bar, and very few establishments that you can visit during the day. We went and looked at it on Google Maps, and the show did not really exaggerate too much. There are a variety of very nice homes there, but the main strip is somewhat sad. We don’t know if we can see Jade Roper there, but she was at least a good sport about it. It is interesting that she considers her magazine shoot a “secret,” even though there are clearly plenty who know about it. Even the crew knows.
Britt Nilsson, meanwhile, was not so keen on Arlington once she started to see it. The difference is that she acted one way about it there, and then a very different way about it when she was actually in front of him. Classic “Bachelor” move. Carly Waddell tried to warn Chris about this while the two were out on the group date, and he actually seemed to listen! Smart move Chris.
However, it was Kaitlyn Bristowe who got the group date rose … and that made Britt very angry. She came off really bad in all of this, especially since everyone else had so much gratitude, from Jade to Whitney Bischoff during her emotional date. It’s just one date, Britt! She has received quite a bit of attention and roses during the season.
We hated how this ended tonight: The cliffhanger was terrible! There was no real need in here to deprive us of a rose ceremony. The show is trying too hard to milk the drama. Grade: C.
