‘Saturday Night Live’: Jim Carrey makes Matt Lauer uncomfortable with Brian Williams joke

SNL -We were wondering when the first moment during the “Saturday Night Live” that made Matt Lauer uncomfortable, we now know … and it comes courtesy of Jim Carrey.

During the red carpet pre-show for the big special on Sunday night, Carrey (who was being interviewed alongside Tina Fey) asked Lauer where he was hiding Brian Williams. From there, we got a few awkward chuckles, and then Carrey proceeded to claim that if he was the NBC anchor, he would haven taken the story of the helicopter that was shot at, as well. It was a very funny moment, mostly because of just how much Lauer and his colleague Savannah Guthrie just had to stand there. This has to be right up there with Triumph the Insult Comic screaming at Jimmy Fallon earlier this week that NBC screwed over Conan O’Brien. (Granted, he used much filthier language.)

Of course, we do think that the internet is already reacting a little too insane to his joke on the show. We don’t imagine even for a split second that we are going to see Carrey shunned on NBC moving forward. The man is predictable! This is just what he does. Also, NBC getting egg on their face is something that they really have to be used to at this point.

Also on tonight’s special, we have seen such stars as Alec Baldwin alongside Sarah Palin (hilarious mostly due to who thought of that), Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, and many other familiar faces who anchored the show at one point.
