‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: When Liz Keen’s world may come crashing down

“The Blacklist” is a show about secrets, and it also at times happens to be a show all about trying to figure out how to keep many of your secrets from coming out.

For Liz Keen, what happened to that Harbormaster is one of the things that she has to be worried about. Many Tom Keen actions before have haunted her, and this could be one of the biggest ones to date. You probably heard already that this particular story is something that would come back to haunt her eventually, and the upcoming February 26 episode “The Deer Hunter” may be this particular moment in which it does. The synopsis below gives you a little insight not only into what we’re talking about here, but also who happens to be the Blacklister for the week:

“When Liz (Megan Boone) learns of a serial killer known as “The Deer Hunter” who tracks his victims like prey, Red (James Spader) helps the task force search for the killer. Meanwhile, the local DC police suspect the city Harbormaster was murdered as Liz struggles to keep her secret from unraveling.“

We have to be honest here: Is the first half of that the most mundane description for a story-of-the-week imaginable? You have a bad guy, so Red and the task force work together to catch said bad guy. We get it. The reality here is that the show really has to come up with some stories that wow us, especially with the more competitive timeslot and also what we felt was a slightly rocky start to the season. Maybe, Liz being under possible investigation could be that extra layer of stakes that we need.
