‘Two and a Half Men’ season 12, episode 14 review: Are Alan and Lyndsey engaged?

The latest -Tonight, “Two and a Half Men” aired what was the penultimate episode of the series, and you can really mark this one as one of the most interesting in the entire run of the series. After all, this is the one where Alan grew up … at least sort of.

The story started tonight when Walden decided to give Alan anything that he wanted as a way to say thanks for marrying. His choice at first? A Ferrari, which led to a battle between him and Lyndsey … mostly because Alan was Alan and chose the most selfish thing imaginable. It took a little bit of convincing, but soon after that, he saw the error of his ways and went with something that is significantly more sensible: An engagement ring for his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Finally, a wedding will happen! Not only that, but Walden could have the house to himself!

The most random, but funny, part of the episode was the flash-forward to the future inside of Walden’s head. This is where we learned that “The Big Bang Theory” was still on the air, and in his mind, he eventually lost Ms. McMartin to Michael Bolton. These expressed his fears of being along, but we don’t imagine he will have many problems with that in the long-term.

Tonight’s episode was a nice way to close to door on the Walden / Alan story for the most part; they are still friends, but are moving forward. Now, we just have to see how the series finale is going to pay tribute to everything we’ve seen on the show over the past twelve years. Grade: B+.
