‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 15 preview: See Mariska Hargitay, cast in ‘Undercover Mother’

“Undercover Mother” has to be one of the more memorable titles that we have seen to date for an episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” but you are going to get a chance to see why very quickly. This is an episode that really echoes the themes that we’ve see in many past installments, including whether or not there is a limit to just how far parents will go to protect their children. Within this show, it sometimes means taking power into their own hands when they would be better off trying to work with their team.

The nature of the case ahead is going to be what stands out early about the synopsis for this episode below. By the time you finish reading it, though, what may catch your eye just as much is actually a tease when it comes to something significant coming up for Benson:

“Working undercover to bust a sex trafficking ring, Det. Carisi (Peter Scanavino) stumbles upon Martha Thornhill (guest star Lili Taylor), a mother who has embedded herself as a Madame in the organization for three years in hopes of finding and saving her daughter, Ariel. Martha joins forces with the SVU and they work together to bust the pimp and his cohorts, but Ariel is still missing. Meanwhile, Sgt. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is confronted with a harsh revelation that will change her life forever. Also starring Ice-T (Det. Odafin Tutuola), Danny Pino (Det. Nick Amaro), Kelli Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins) and Raúl Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba).”

Unfortunately, there are not many other clues present in the promo, but it does give you more insight into the case.
