‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 16 review: Did Kensi, Deeks have their first fight?
After 6 seasons of “NCIS: Los Angeles” and barely have anytime to see how their relationship has changed since admitting they love each other and deciding to commit to each other, we aren’t sure that we want to see a fight between them so soon. Unfortunately this is what we are facing in tonight’s new episode, so let’s take a look at just how bad this fight is really going to be.
So we were just complaining last week that this show never really puts our main cast in any serious danger as they seem to avoid getting hit with swarms of bullets every week, but this time Sam wasn’t so luck y and he actually got hit with a sniper bullet. Of course he ends up being okay, but not until after he has surgery and scares the heck out of the team.
We have also been a little underwhelmed by the lack of storyline with Kensi and Deeks now that they are a couple. We were expecting to see a lot more of that now that they are official, but we haven’t had a lot, until now. We saw the couple waking up in bed together and being as cute as ever talking about how she has introduced him to her friends which is another big step in their relationship. Unfortunately Deeks does what he does best, which is needle Kensi about everything (in this case it’s about her friends) and she takes offence to it because her friends are important to her.
After losing a friend, Deeks ends up suggesting that he and Kensi take a night off from each other here and there and Kensi is happy for the time to herself since working together and being together all the time can be tough on a couple. Is he pulling away from her? Quite the opposite, he is falling more and more in love with her every tie she smiles.
At first, we were worried that Kensi and Deeks having their first fight so quickly after becoming official, but they found a really interesting way to deal with it. Having a relationship with a person you work with can be incredibly challenging. This was one of our favorite episodes of the season, filled with love and heart-stopping moments. Episode grade: B+
