‘Downton Abbey’ season 5, episode 7 preview (PBS): Allen Leech, Isis the dog teasers
Tonight, “Downton Abbey” aired its sixth episode of season 5, and it was a big one for the characters of Anna and Bates in particular as we learned a little bit more about the reality of their situation. While it does appear that they are in slightly better ground now that we know Bates did not kill Mr. Green at the train station (even though many might not feel that badly if he did), that does not even remotely mean that he is out of the woods just yet.
With that in mind, next week’s episode will pick up on that and take us further down this road for Joanne Froggatt and Brendan Coyle’s characters as they try to ensure that they are not taken in by the police. We’ll have more on their journey a little later this week.
For now, though, we wanted to share two specific stories to look out for next, beginning with Tom Branson and his consideration to possibly depart the Abbey after spending the past few seasons there, and starting another life somewhere else. He has long wondered whether or not he truly belonged at this particular venues, and this is mostly the continuation of this debate for him.
Meanwhile, get ready for a big storyline related to Isis the Dog, as well! This episode actually generated a whole lot of headlines when it aired in Britain, mostly because of the dog’s name and its similarities to the terrorist group (but it is also the name of an Egyptian goddess let’s not forget). We don’t want to say too much else on this subject right now, mostly in fear of giving something away.
