ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 14 review: 3XK, Kelly Nieman and baby talk?
It has been a while since we’ve really had some classic “Castle” stories on the show, so you have probably been very excited for tonight’s episode. We will have the return of 3XK who will be trying to make Castle and Beckett’s lives as miserable as possible (would you expect anything less?).
Is Kate thinking about having kids with Castle? After seeing Alexis give her a kiss goodbye, she reveals that she thinks about having kids with Castle and it’s not just a passing thought, she is serious about the idea and Castle is thrilled.
When a woman named Susan Watts turns up dead there are too many similarities to past a case for Lanie to look away. She tells Kate that she thinks Kelly Nieman is involved since the plastic surgery involved with Susan is exactly the same as another case involving Kelly. There have been many theories that Kelly is connected to 3XK (Jerry Tyson)… are we going to see an appearance from him tonight? We sure did… but is it really him?
With Kelly Nieman back in town, Kate is able to convince the captain that Castle is the best person to help with the case, so Castle PI is on hold and we actually have Castle and Beckett working together again, but for how long?
Kelly is claiming that Tyson is dead and that they are chasing ghosts, but Castle wonders if Kelly is recreating the victims to look just like the type of women Tyson likes to kill. When Beckett finally finds who they think is Tyson they bring him for questioning, but he’s denying that he knows Castle, or Beckett and claims that he’s not Jerry Tyson, but actually someone named Michael Bordeaux. He tells them that he got plastic surgery from Kelly and when they check the fingerprints against Michael’s, his story is confirmed and they fear that they have to release him.
When they realize that they can’t get him on the fingerprints they track down his family and get a baby tooth from Jerry to test as DNA. So was the DNA a match? Seems that it wasn’t and they had to let him go.
The real victim that Kelly and Jerry were after was Beckett…. and they have her. They of course left us with this major cliffhanger and we have to wait until next week to find out what happens, but what an incredible episode! Episode grade: A-
