‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Amy Gumenick officially returning as Cupid
It’s Cupid … back again, stupid.
In what has to be some of our favorite news related to “Arrow” to get today, ET Online has confirmed that Amy Gumenick will be reprising her role as the villain during the upcoming 18th episode of this season. Not only that, but this will be the return of the Suicide Squad as a whole. Cynthia Addai-Robinson will be back once again as Amanda Waller, and you are also going to see more of Michael Rowe a.k.a. Deadshot. Unfortunately, it does not appear as though Michael Jai White will be stopping by once again as Bronze Tiger. The character is still alive, so he may still have another appearance or two in the future. It is somewhat strange that there is only two members to the group right now, so maybe we’ll be seeing someone like Captain Boomerang or another character join them. Diggle was sort of the Flagg of the group the last time they appeared, so he will probably have a similar role here again.
We last saw Cupid earlier this season, and after she was captured, it appeared that she in some ways will be this show’s version of Harley Quinn after that character made a super-brief cameo appearance.
We have been somewhat worried about the Suicide Squad’s future on this show for a while now, mostly because they have that upcoming movie and because DC Comics for some reason is being very protective of what goes on TV versus what goes into the movies. We really wish that they weren’t like this, given that this is not like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Personally, we’d love to see more great Suicide Squad characters on the “Arrow” squad.
For now, though, we’re just glad that they are going to be coming back.
