SAG Awards 2015: Uzo Aduba, William H. Macy, ‘Game of Thrones’ among winners

Tonight, the SAG Awards are recognizing some of the best and brightest in the world of TV, and we are going to be spending our time here giving you as many different assorted updates throughout the night. This includes this winners’ list, which we will have a little bit of analysis for as time goes by.

We should add in here that we’ve never been particularly thrilled with the nominees. While it has been nice to see Tatiana Maslany and a few others get some love, most of them are fairly predictable, and are merely honoring some of the same people who have been nominated so many different times in the past.  Be sure to check back throughout the show, as we are going to have even more updates.

Comedy Series, Actor – William H. Macy, “Shameless.” Still not entirely sure it’s a comedy, but we love Macy and the series.

Stunt Team – “Game of Thrones.” After some of those battle scenes, how could it not win.

Comedy Series, Actress – Uzo Aduba, “Orange Is the New Black.” Basically, copy and paste what we said about Macy above.

Comedy Ensemble – “Orange Is the New Black.” Clearly, this is a great year for Netflix, and for non-traditional comedy.

Actor, Miniseries / Movie – Mark Ruffalo, “The Normal Heart.”

Actress, Miniseries / Movie – Francis McDormand, “Olive Kitteridge”

Drama Series, Actor – Kevin Spacey, “House of Cards.” It’s a follow-up winner!

Drama Series, Actress – Viola Davis, “How to Get Away with Murder.” Definitely deserving, and her first industry awards show win.

Drama Ensemble – “Downton Abbey.” All the hipster TV critics will complain about this.
