‘The Americans’ season 3 video: Graphics and the Police

While FX may no longer have new episodes of “American Horror Story” airing on Wednesday nights, there is something else that the show is bringing to the table. Specifically, we are talking here about the return of the sensational “The Americans,” which continues to be (at least for us) one of the most captivating series that exists out there. Somehow, it is also one of the most overlooked.

Before we start to get into talking about some of the positives when it comes to this new promo, we may as well start on the negatives. Specifically here, let’s talk about how there is nothing particularly new about it when it comes to the story. Then again, this is the only major negative that we have to say right now about it. These colors and graphics are the same sort of thing that we’ve seen on many other bits of promotional material for the show, and that includes the poster that we’ve attached to this article.

For those of you interested in the historical accuracy of it all, remember here that “Every Breath You Take” was recorded in the early 1980s, which is also when this series is set. Therefore, the show is not looking to go in the direction of “American Horror Story” and just put in songs that they like, regardless of the time period and everything else.

Regardless of however amazing this campaign may be, the truth here is that the story of Philip and Elizabeth is what really needs to stand out above all else. Hopefully, the producers find a way to meet all expectations.
