NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: A casting and Hugh Dancy ties

Hannibal -We have said it many times over the past few weeks, but it bears repeating that “Hannibal” season 3 is going to be effectively split into halves. The first half of the story will revolve around Will Graham and the search for Hannibal Lecter in Europe. Meanwhile, the second half is going to be more of the traditional “Red Dragon” story.

Well, there have since been some more details that have come out, and added so many more dimensions to the whole story of where the NBC series will be going as it moves into the second part of its tale this summer. Specifically, we are going to see Will Graham in a very different place in his life. Three years will have passed, and he will actually be enjoying life as a married man. According to a new report from TVLine, Nina Arianda has been cast to play the role of Molly, who will be someone very important to the story moving forward.

According to the site’s casting breakdown, she “understands that Will is a good man, [and her] love has allowed him to rebuild himself. But when Will is asked to return to the FBI, she also urges him to try and save lives, knowing what risks this entails.” What is also interesting is that she and Hugh Dancy already have a history of working together courtesy of “Venus in Fur” on Broadway. That should help their onscreen chemistry.

While you may still be reeling from the news that “Hannibal” is not coming back to TV anytime soon, we do hope the summer gives it a chance to earn better ratings.
