‘Big Brother Canada’ season 3 to premiere March 23
Ready for more “Big Brother Canada“? Well, let’s hope you are of the patient type this year.
Global announced on Monday that the third season of the reality show (a personal favorite of ours) is going to be premiering come Monday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The schedule this season is different in addition to it premiering a little later this season than usual, which we assume is due to the schedule change from Slice to Global. New episodes will air Mondays at 8:00, Wednesdays at 9:00, and then also Sundays at 7:00. The biggest question mark of the three to us is the Monday airing, given that you are up against “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Voice,” and “Gotham.” That is a heck of a lot of competition.
As for some other important news to note, the “Big Brother Canada Side Show” will be returning in a one-hour format on Thursday, March 26, and it will air once again on Slice. Joining host Arisa Cox once again this season will be Gary Levy and Peter Brown once again. Slice will also be airing “Big Brother After Dark” this season from 3:00-6:00 a.m., which is somewhat ironic given that the sun will almost be rising at times during the show.
The show will also once again have free, ad-supporting live feeds, which differentiates this series from the American version of the show, which goes for more of a subscription model. While we still have to wait and see what the future holds for the series, we have to say that we are excited about everything we are hearing about at this point.

It will also go against another big ratings show Masterchef Canada at the same time.

Actually looking at the ratings for DWTS. The show was moved from CTV (Major network) to a smaller network M3 (like Slice), and had less ratings (average) than BBCAN2, so it probably won’t be competition (unless they switch it back to CTV, but I doubt it). Gotham averaged 2.4 million in Canada last year on CTV., and “The Voice” was also switched from CTV to CTV2, which doesn’t get the ratings like it use to. The main competition will be “CTV’s Masterchef Canada” which will air at the same time, and had an average ‘1.8 million’ last season.
