Monday night marks a new episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and let’s just say that this is not an ordinary episode. You have a big case for Sam and Callen, but you also have none other than Julie Chen of “The Talk” making a major guest-starring appearance on the show.
This is not the first time this TV season that you’ve seen one of the ladies from the CBS daytime show on a scripted program. Aisha Tyler was on “Two and a Half Men” earlier this season, and we’ve also seen Sharon Osbourne on “CSI.” Chen here is playing the part of Nancy Kelly, a prominent U.S. Ambassador who becomes the target of an assassination attempt. Sam and Callen have to do everything that they can in order to protect her, and that is no easy task from what it looks like.
The video below features Chen talking about getting the gig, how nervous she was to dive in, and even her husband Les Moonves’ reaction to all of the lines that she had in the episode. Cast members Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J also discuss what it was like working with her.
Think of this episode as one of many exciting cases that are coming up, given that the LA bureau in particular seems to have some of the most action-packed missions of the entire “NCIS” franchise. There are also some more personal storylines happening here long-term. While it is not mentioned in this particular video, we are still intrigued by whatever is going to happen between Deeks and Kensi now that they are an official couple.
