’24’ season 10: No talks (for now) about reviving Kiefer Sutherland series again

24 -So long as Kiefer Suthlerland is alive and able to say “dammit,” there are probably going to be questions about whether or not he will continue to play Jack Bauer on “24.” There is a part of us picturing in our head an 80-year old version of this character, trying to still punch terrorists and bad guys in the face.

Be prepared for this to be the obligatory answer for all things “24” season 10 moving forward. While at the TCA Winter Press Tour this week, Fox’s programming heads Dana Walden and Gary Newman said that although there have been “discussions,” there is not anything close to definitive right now when it comes to getting the show back for another tour on Fox at some point in the future. Sutherland said recently that he feels like he may be done playing Jack, but we feel like a great story (and potentially a good salary) would convince him to come back for at least one more go of things.

For the time being, though, it is pretty much official that there will be no Jack Bauer this summer, and it would probably be 2016 at the earliest before we could see the show return. This is something that we will continue to keep watch on.

The funny thing here for now is that revivals of Fox series seem to be the hot topic of conversation right now. After all, remember that Fox also confirmed at TCA that they have had discussions about reviving “The X-Files” after so many years off the air.
