‘Glee’ season 6: Lea Michele to join Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande on Ryan Murphy’s ‘Scream Queens’
Well, it didn’t take Lea Michele very long at all to land another new TV job after the end of “Glee.”
While at the Fox TCA panel on Saturday, it was confirmed that Lea is going to be a regular on “Scream Queens,” the upcoming horror / comedy anthology series that is being executive-produced by her longtime executive producer / friend Ryan Murphy. This is his way of staying in business with the network, and it gives them something potentially new and exciting.
As with almost every other Ryan Murphy show under the sun these days, “Scream Queens” also has an extremely impressive cast at the moment. Joining Lea and the previously-confirmed Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story”) and the legendary Jamie Lee Curtis as series regulars are Keke Palmer, “True Blood” alum Joe Manganiello, and former “Little Miss Sunshine” star Abigail Breslin. Basically every one of these people you probably know already from something else, and that is really quite tremendous.
This show is supposed to be set around a college campus in some way, which explains why we have so many young women in the cast. It was also confirmed that pop star and former Nickelodeon darling Ariana Grande will also be on the show in a recurring role, meaning that she will not appear in every episode but should still have an interesting part. This is an interesting cast, since it shows that Grande is not necessarily through with acting despite her rise to stardom.
Given that this is the final season of “Glee,” we anticipate that many other actors will also land roles on other shows in the months ahead.
