‘The Flash’ spoilers: Show boss on Barry Allen’s complicated love life
So far, “The Flash” has been a show that has played up a little bit of romance here and there with Barry Allen, but at the same time, we have not exactly seen them take the plunge, and throw the character into any sort of full-fledged relationship. Is it possible that we could see that change in the near future? Based on what we are hearing right now, we would say to almost count on it.
Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is kind enough to tease a variety of stories coming up, including the arrival of a new woman (at least sort of; she has appeared briefly played by a different actress) who could shake things up very much for him. Not only that, but we get a sense that Iris West may be starting to come to terms with some of her own feelings at the same time:
“As he gets a new love interest in Linda Park (played by Malese Jow), Iris’ reaction to that is going to be interesting … Certainly, there is no shortage of amazing women in Barry Allen’s life, including Caitlin and Felicity. Which girl actually gets to land him will be one of the surprises of the back half of the season.”
Do we think that there is a favorite right now to win Barry’s heart? We think that at the top of the list right now has to be Iris, just because of what happens in the comic books. However, it may not be until near the end of the season when they start to get a little closer. We’re obviously not ruling out Linda in the near future.
As for the other two, Felicity seems to be way too tied up right now with Oliver and Ray Palmer, and she is also a part of a different show. Caitlin is the most interesting possibility, at least in that there is some chemistry there, and the SnowBarry ‘ship is extremely popular with fans. With that being said, does the show want to throw a romantic spin on every single female character Barry’s age? That would put us in that direction.
We don’t have too great of a preference; we just want to see what happens.

I like Caitlin and Barry. I just think that if Iris and Barry end up together, it’s just plain weird because I’m so used to the idea that Iris’s dad (Joe) is Barry’s dad… and I just see them as brother and sister. But that’s just me. Now, I’m just seeing all the sparks between Barry and Caitlin. I think they will be end game.

Barry and Iris are perfect together. I hope they become a couple soon. Their love in the comics is iconic and i would like the same thing to happen on the tv show. don’t get me started on iris and flash…the sexual tension is unbelievable…I hope iris lifts the ban soon so we can get more flash/iris scenes.

I ship westallen. Barry and Iris have great chemistry and sparks fly between flash and iris. I would love see them together soon.

I ship SnowBarry as i like the two together and there is actually chemistry there, with him and Iris, its been purely platonic and dont understand why hes after her when she doesn’t love him back, go after Caitlin

Caitlin doesn’t love him either….she’s in love with Ronnie. So according to your logic he shouldn’t go after caitlin either.

Caitlin WAS in love of Ronnie, but now she wishes he died rather than be in his state, and in a future episode she and barry decide to move on from ronnie and iris and find new love (sadly not with each other)
