‘Glee’ season 6, episode 4 preview: Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet, and ‘The Hurt Locker: Part I’
Tonight, “Glee” had its first episode beyond the two-night premiere event, and we do think that this final season is faring much better than many over the past few years.
With that being said, we are only three episodes in, and the vast majority of the time, what we’ve learned about Ryan Murphy-produced shows is that they tend to start extremely strong, and then fade a little bit as time goes on. We don’t really want to see that happen, but you never quite know. At least there is an ambitious plan for next week’s “The Hurt Locker: Part I,” but it is a risky one. Just take a look at the synopsis below for an explanation why:
“Rachel tries to make a deal with Will, so that his glee club purposefully underperforms at their invitational. Meanwhile, Sue is busy meddling and hypnotizes Sam into making a move on Rachel to throw her off.”
The twist here is that anytime that you have a romantic storyline for Rachel, you are going to face a potential backlash over whether or not the character should have a new love interest after what happened to Finn. It doesn’t matter if Sam is doing it willingly or not, since the writers are still in control of his actions.
For now, we’ll reserve judgment until this episode actually airs. After all, we did not have much confidence in the show going into this season, and so far we have been pleasantly surprised.

I just want to watch a show that cares more about the quality of the writing and less about pandering to all these “ships” clamoring for “endgame” on various social media sites. I want to be entertained by the music and LAUGH.
