‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4, episode 2 review: Did Zoe tell Wade about pregnancy?

Tonight’s new “Hart of Dixie” spent a whole lot of time trying to answer one question, and it is a fundamentally simple one: Did Zoe Hart finally tell Wade the truth about being pregnant? She spent most of “The Curling Iron” going back and forth on the subject, with fear serving as the primary motivating factor.

You see, the biggest thing is that Zoe was battling frequent insecurity on the subject. She wants to be a good mother, and she also wants a real commitment. The last thing she wants is for Wade to break her heart again, and when she heard that Wade wanted to “take things slow” as a result of being back together, this made her want to run in the opposite direction. If she had even a sliver of objectivity, then she would know that it would be a good idea to hesitate or take a deep breath.

Eventually, Zoe did tell Wade the truth, but she also told him that she planned to raise the child alone. We cannot see him being too cool with this, though, as evidenced by that promo at the end.

As for the Breeland family, there were a variety of different problems for them. Lemon admitted the truth to her grandmother about her “relationship” with Henry, but it was only a matter of time with that. While George and Lavon started to bond despite their love for her, Brick decided to finally tell his mom the truth about Shelby … and it turns out that it was okay!

This episode was as a whole a heck of a ton of fun, and we’re not too worried about Wade and Zoe. Despite their problems, we see this as a step in the right direction. Episode Grade: B+.
