‘Person of Interest’ season 4 spoilers: Reese, Root continue to search for Shaw

We certainly understand the sense of sorrow many “Person of Interest” fans have to feel over the loss of the Shaw character. After all, Sarah Shahi was a huge part of this show’s universe!

However, if there is any one thing that we can offer them up as consolation, it is that it does not quite appear in the slightest like the writers are forgetting about her. Instead, they are coming up with unique ways to continue injecting her into the story, even if the character may not actually be alive. Take, for example, with the show’s next episode back on February 3. In this episode, entitled “M.I.A,” both Reese and Root are going to continue the hunt for her in an unusual place. The short synopsis (via SpoilerTV) makes it rather clear just what they are up to:

“Reese and Root’s hunt for Shaw takes them to a small town in upstate New York where it becomes apparent that not everything is as idyllic as it seems. Also, Fusco teams with a former POI to tackle the newest number.”

Based more or less on everything that we’ve heard, the show does not necessarily plan on wrapping up the Shaw story, mostly because it gives them so many more options for the future. Due to Shahi’s pregnancy, you won’t be seeing more of her at any point in the near future, but provided the show lasts long enough, you never know what could happen after that.

Until that time, the show is looking to continue doing more of what they do best, which is providing you that combination of great serialized stories with also something that you can pop in and enjoy on any given week.
