There is something that we have come to see time and time again on “The Bachelor,” and that is people getting ridiculously wasted in the early going. Why does this keep happening? It is mostly a symptom of the show providing plenty of alcohol, and then also contestants who are either bored or nervous partaking in too much of it without enough fun. You’re stressed out and probably exhausted, and adding alcohol to these two things is probably not a great mix.
Two contestants who really had a rough edit due to booze are Tara Eddings and Jordan Branch, and they’ve each spoken out in different ways about their time on the show. Speaking per “Good Morning America,” Tara specifically said that “the main thing I want [people] to know is that I really don’t drink like that. The nerves got the best of me.” Meanwhile, Branch told TMZ that the show’s producers should be doing more to address situations of alcohol consumption, having someone present who can cut you off if things get crazy.
Let’s make one thing clear: That is never going to happen. Producers love drunken antics.
If we went on this show knowing that sometimes we can get a little too crazy with alcohol, there is one thing specifically that we would do: Not drink. If we know that it will end up being a problem, just avoiding it seems to be the right move. Clearly, there are contestants in the past who have done it and ended up doing just fine.
Plus, you don’t want to leave yourself at the mercy of the show’s editors.
