‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Kevin Hart, Aidy Bryant celebrate the new year

SNL -Have you been waiting patiently for the new episode of “Saturday Night Live” to come on the air? Well, we come bearing some great news! There is a new installment coming on this weekend, and it is hosted by none other than master comic Kevin Hart. Sia is the musical guest, which we find somewhat funny given that she was the focus of a sketch during the Jim Carry episode that is a little bit of a personal favorite.

As for what we hope Hart brings to the table this time, it’s really quite simple: Laughs. He is one of the top comic actors in the business right now, and almost everything that he touches turns to gold. What’s nice about him still, though, is that this is not one of those spoiled-brat comics who managed to get big almost immediately. He has been working at this for a long time, and the reason he is probably back is because clearly, Lorne Michaels and the cast enjoyed working with him the last time that he was around.

Now, hopefully Hart can settle in a little more, since some of those first-time-hosting jitters are gone. He also had auditioned for the show in the past and didn’t get it, which is probably one of those things that really adds to the story.

The promo below is mildly funny, but we’d by lying if we said here that we find any of these promos for “SNL” to be particularly hilarious. The majority of them are mildly funny at best, and do not bring a whole lot of great material to the table. Typically, we hope they are saving the good stuff until later.
