‘Shark Tank’ video: Scratch & Grain Baking Co. behind the scenes

Shark Tank CastTypically with these “Shark Tank” preview articles the day of a new episode, we like to share some sort of clip from the show. However, with the quick turnaround ABC has not released one with any sort of real footage from tonight’s episode.

Still, we wanted to give you at least something extra to highlight one of the products, and we are doing that here with Scratch & Grain Baking Co., which seems to operate under a basic strategy: Making it easy to for families to bake cookies, while at the same time having them be at the highest quality possible. The company made the video below last year, and we feel like it is a pretty good explanation of who they made this product for, and why this is a good alternative versus just buying all of the ingredients yourself and trying to bake something in that manner.

For the most part, we feel like the company is doing something right. While we personally like the slow process of measuring things out, we see families or people with tiny windows of time wanting to do something different. Also, these seem to be as healthy of cookies as cookies can be while still tasting decent.

Our concern going into the episode is strictly that you still have to get butter and eggs, which does keep it from being a truly one-stop shop for all things cookie. Then again, there is really no way to include things that need to be refrigerated in this packaging. We could see this having a loyal following among middle-to-high-income families, but we don’t necessarily see baking junkies or people on a budget going for it.

We’re going to have our full review of tonight’s “Shark Tank” a little later at the link here, so be on the lookout for that. Also, sign up now if you want even more great TV updates sent in your direction, and courtesy of our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
