‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Charlotte Ross returning as Donna Smoak

Donna -For all of those “Arrow” fans who enjoyed seeing a slice of Felicity’s home life, we come bearing good news: Charlotte Ross is coming back for at least one more episode.

As first reported by TVLine, the actress, last seen in “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” will be back in the 18th episode of this current season. We feel like this is a move that was generated almost entirely by the warm reception she was met with by fans of the show, and it is a nice little parallel to Felicity herself. Emily Bett Rickards did not sign on to the show expecting a role of this magnitude, and it is almost an Aaron Paul – “Breaking Bad” sort of situation where she ended up being so great, the show simply had to make her a prominent character. Now, she is regarded as the primary love interest to Oliver Queen even more so than Laurel Lance.

We know that it will take something specific for Donna Smoak to resurface, mostly because she is not a Starling City resident. She had to be tricked into flying all the way out there for her last appearance. If nothing else, though, she and her daughter were able to come to terms on what their relationship should be throughout the entirety of the last time she was there.

New episodes of “Arrow” will resume starting on Wednesday, January 21 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Stay tuned for more scoop, and hopefully some other casting intel!
