MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 5: Star Greer Grammer serving as Miss Golden Globe!

Who is Greer Grammer? In case you are not familiar with the woman handing out some of the trophies tonight at the Golden Globes, here are a couple of interesting things worth noting.

First and foremost, there is obviously a big connection between Greer and a former award winner in Kelsey Grammer: She is his daughter! It is fairly common for the awards show to have Miss Golden Globe to be the descendant of a former award winner, and we have seen that for so many years now. It’s a chance to give you an Old Hollywood vs. New Hollywood vibe, since most of these women are also a part of the entertainment industry in their own right.

For Greer, she is coming into the awards show with a pretty good resume of her own. She is a regular on MTV’s “Awkward” in the role of Lissa, This is her most notable role to date, though she has made a variety of promotional appearances across TV promoting her part tonight.

As for when you will be able to see Grammer back on TV after this, MTV has not confirmed just yet when you can for sure see more of “Awkward” on again. With that being said, we do firmly expect the fifth and final season to be premiering at some point this spring. Given that “Finding Carter” was seemingly given its traditional Tuesday timeslot, it may be moved somewhere else.
